By calling attention to boundaries and barriers, both real and imagined, natural and built, social and political, and within public and private spaces-and through the reexamination of varying representations of time and place and its peoples and culture-I seek to reveal the unseen, the unheard, the unspoken, the unknown, and the overlaying histories at these intersections.
I am interested in the reclaiming and reframing of age-old narratives told from the perspectives of those driven by colonialism, capitalism, and imperialism and centered on the domination, commodification, and consumption of the land, water, air and all living beings both human and non-human, whose health is interdependent upon a shared care for our natural world.
I am interested in spotlighting past, present, and future abuses of power, specifically those in the shape of physical, psychological, and spiritual harm against communities of color-through awareness of systems and processes of oppression such as: encroachment, exploration, extraction, exploitation, dispossession, displacement, assimilation, indoctrination, acculturation, and erasure.
Most importantly, I am interested in contributing to the historical and ongoing collective movement reimagining, envisioning, and co-creating systems change, global justice, and healing.
